Yea, people stare off into space for no reason sometimes, but not always in the same place.  Most guys I know, including me, will find themselves staring a lot at someone they are interested in. Hell, that\'s basically all I did my senior year. When he smiles at you from accross the room make sure you smile back, you should really show him signs too.  
This past year in school there was one girl I would always stare at.  Whenever she caught me she would make this adorable little giggle.  It was so cute it drove me crazy.

That\'s what it sounds like to me, and I am a guy.  I know what you mean when you say every one in the group naturally flirts with each other, we do that around here too and it can be very difficult to tell if someone is serious.  There is always a chance that he\'s just one of those morons that goes around just trying to get girls to like him even when he doesn\'t feel the same way, but from what you said about him it doesn\'t sound like it.  Actually, your description of him reminds me of myself so I think there is a good chance he\'s interested.  
Ya\'know what would be the smartest thing to do? Do something with him... just the two of you.  You guys are friends right? So just ask him to do something with you like any two friends would.  If you hang out around each other long enough eventually you\'ll find out what\'s really going on in his mind.

ok i like this guy. he\'s so hot, & yet really sweet too.

n-e-wayz, i can\'t tell if he likes me back or just messin around. see, everyone in the group flirts w/ everyone else, so you kinda have to make stuff obvious, or it\'ll just be assumed as normal.

he\'ll stare from across the room, & when i catch his eye he\'ll kinda get this crooked smile (it\'s so cute). but we all stare into space sometimes when we get bored, rite? so that may or may not mean something.

then he\'ll talk really low, lower than usual, & i always have to walk up to him & tell him to repeat it b/c i can\'t hear him. i don\'t even have a clue what, if anything, that means.

lastly, he\'ll make the weirdest comments, like today, he said my lips were shiny (i have just put lip gloss on). that sounded kinda obvious, but it could just be innocent.

i realize that you don\'t know the entire situation, or me, or the guy, so it\'s cool if you read this i say \"who knows whats up?\", but if you do feel like commenting or giving any opinion, go ahead; it\'s appreciated, esp, since i\'m so clueless w/ guys sometimes.
